$5 of every CoatHook sale from this page goes to the Pet Adoption League of Westchester County, New York, which finds loving permanent homes for hundreds of adoptable dogs and cats each year and have placed thousands since they organized in 1996.

Through P.A.L’s unique “Home-to-Home” program, volunteers work directly with people who need to re-home their pets, to spare their cats and dogs from having to wait in an animal shelter for any amount of time. This offers a much kinder, gentler transition for the pet when their guardians can no longer keep them.

P.A.L. collaborates with other rescue groups to benefit Westchester’s homeless animals, with the premise that the vast majority of dogs and cats can be saved with a collaborative effort among a network of compassionate animal lovers.

P.A.L., in collaboration with Cat Assistance, founded the annual Westchester Pet Adoption Fair and Expo that for the last seven years has found hundreds of homes for area animals in need. The event was picked up and is now run by Best Friends Animal Society of Utah.

P.A.L.’s efforts helped to dramatically reduce a local municipal shelter’s euthanasia rate in one year from 67 percent down to only 14 percent.

The group coordinates a trap-neuter-return (TNR) program that helps to control the area’s feral cat population, and they raise funds to maintain a reserve that can be used to provide medical care in urgent rescue cases.

P.A.L.’s current goal is to raise enough funds to build additional kennels at the Yonkers Animal Shelter, and we hope that CoatHook sales from this page can help P.A.L. to achieve that goal.

About This Product

The CoatHook gathers and removes shedding undercoat fur from cats, dogs, and rabbits without pulling or cutting the outer layers of fur, the way some pet combs do.

The CoatHook’s long tines reach through the outer layer of fur, and the small hooks at the ends of the tines gently but very effectively gather and remove downy shedding undercoat fur.

A series of graduated hooks along the top of the tines can be used to gently tease out tangled fur.

The CoatHook works really well on dogs that have coats that shed, such as Labs, Collies, Shepherds, and mixed breeds, as well as medium-long to long-haired cats.
