About This Fundraiser

This fundraiser benefits PetNet, an all-volunteer organization building a strong network of foster families in central Illinois who provide safe, loving temporary homes for animals in need until their forever homes can be found. Since 2015, PetNet has helped find adoptive homes for about 150 animals — mostly dogs and cats, a few rabbits, rats, reptiles, ducks, and a pig.
Founders Abby Prince and Emily Price started PetNet specifically to help pets in Illinois’s Champaign area. They had volunteered with rescue groups getting dogs who were at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee to northern shelters, where they stood a better chance of finding homes, and the women began to recognize a need not only in their own state but in their own county. They set their sights on minimizing the number of animals in their local area who land in or have to stay in shelters or unhealthy living situations. They place adoptable pets in foster homes throughout Champaign County and surrounding towns. PetNet ensures that, at minimum, those animals are spayed / neutered, fully vaccinated, heart worm tested, and microchipped before they get adopted.
PetNet coordinates the efforts of about 40 volunteers who foster animals; transport them to foster homes, vet appointments, and meet-and-greets; and represent the organization at animal-welfare-related events, where they build awareness for their mission.
Veterinary care, monthly preventatives, food, transportation, and supplies (collars, leashes, food / water bowls, toys, treats, beds) are among PetNet's biggest expenses. Occasionally, they help an animal who requires a major surgery, and they raise funds to cover those costs. We are happy to have the opportunity, through CoatHook pet comb purchases on this page, to pitch in to help PetNet pay its bills. We thank you for buying a CoatHook to benefit PetNet.
About This Product

The CoatHook gathers and removes shedding undercoat fur from cats, dogs, and rabbits without pulling or cutting the outer layers of fur, the way some pet combs do.
The CoatHook’s long tines reach through the outer layer of fur, and the small hooks at the ends of the tines gently but very effectively gather and remove downy shedding undercoat fur.
A series of graduated hooks along the top of the tines can be used to gently tease out tangled fur.
The CoatHook works really well on dogs that have coats that shed, such as Labs, Collies, Shepherds, and mixed breeds, as well as medium-long to long-haired cats.
